Bosque del Apache Feb 12
In early/mid February (2012), I visited a friend and former colleague Marvin De Jong (from C of O days) at the Bosque del Apache NWR (National Wildlife Reserve) where he and his wife Claudia are/were finishing a 4-month volunteer stint. Had a marvelous time and got some great pics (for me, anyway - Marv has MARVELOUS shots!). The shots in this gallery are arranged roughly as follows: A quick, random peek at the variety of birds I saw (#1 - 17); a scattering of 'scenery' shots (#18 - 26); followed by a semi-chronological review of the 3 days, featuring a massive morning 'fly away' (highly sought after event among birders), and about 1.5 much smaller 'fly-ins' (often the reverse - birds settling in for the evening.)
